Page 3 of 3 Physical Division: 1. Questioned Documents Unit The questioned documents unit provides a great diversity of forensic service to the police and other law enforcement agencies. These services are of critical importance combating white-collar crime, organized crime and general criminal activities, which includes scientific examination of physical evidences involving ink, papers, alterations, obliteration, erasures, handwriting, type writings, embossed seal and rubber stamps impressions, indended writings, charred documents, printed matters, photocopies, passports and counterfeit currency notes etc  Questioned Documents Unit 2. Ballistics / Explosives Unit This unit is concerned with the examination of firearms, cartridge cases, bullets, pellets, live and misfired cartridges, clothing of victim, unburnt & partially burnt powder grains, wads, hand swab, materials affected by projectiles, glass pane affected by shooting etc. In addition to this physical evidences related with explosives and explosion residues are also examined in this unit. 3. Physics Unit This unit deals with the tool marks, footprints, tyre marks, erased chassis and engine numbers of vehicles, footprints, paints, shoe prints etc.  Physics Unit 4. Photography Unit The macro and micro photography of questioned documents and fingerprints other varieties of crime exhibits, tool-marks, holes, hairs, fibers, bones etc.  Photography Unit
5. Finger Print Unit In the fingerprint unit, comparison of thumb impression with the admitted and specimen finger print and give expert opinion. Development and examination of chance print and their comparison with the suspects. The unit also maintains criminal records and verifies the records of the people who wish to get police clearance certificates.  Fingerprint Unit
