Background:

Before the establishment of this school, the investigation training wing of NPA was responsible for conducting all the courses related to crime investigation.

In view of the requirment of huge number of skilled manpower, job specialization concept in investigation and in accordance with the recommendation made by the "Commission on Police Reformation and Recommendation, 1995 A.D., HMG decided to establish a detective Training School (DTS) by developing Detective Training (DT) wing within the available resources of National Police Academy in April 21st 1996 A.D.

Now, DTS is one of the training institution to conduct crime Investigation training in Nepal. 

Objectives:

• Prepare curriculum and develop training material related to the crime investigation in coordination with National Police Academy and Regional Police Training Centers.
• To promote skilled manpower for the Criminal Investigation.
• Ensure the standards of the crime investigation training organized by the Regional Police Training Centers.
