Police Day Celebrated.

National Police Academy
Police Day 2065 was observed by Nepal Police with exchange of best wishes and tribute to the fallen heroes. On the occasion, special celebration of police day was organized in National Police Academy orchestrating fanfare, delightful illumination and an array of graceful display of parade, music and cultural dances. Honorable Deputy Prime-minister and Home Minister Bamdev Gautam graced the occasion as chief guest.

In 2012 BS (1955) Police Act was formally promulgated and Nepal Police was legitimately established. Glorious tradition of observing the Police Day began since 2052 BS (1995). Marking the day to commemorate the day of its inception, Police Day ushers in renewed enthusiasm and motivation in all police personnel, reinforcing their commitment towards service to the nation and to the people.
Addressing on the occasion Honorable Deputy Prime-minister and Home Minister Bamdev Gautam directed Nepal Police to strengthen security in the country and serve the people.
Inspector General of Police Hem Bahadur Gurung delivered vote of thanks expressing gratitude to the chief guest and all the invited dignitaries for accepting the invitation. He also pledged that Nepal Police would focus on professionalism and uphold human rights in the delivery of service to the people.
Chief guest Honorable Deputy Prime-minister and Home Minister Bamdev Gautam also gave away awards and certificates to the distinguished police personnel in recognition to their outstanding performance and contribution in the different fields of policing. Also awarded were personalities from various walks of life for their support and contribution in their respective fields.
