The National Police Academy conducts various inductions and advance level training for policy, supervisory and field level police officers. The main areas of training are.  

I Basic Training (Induction Course) 

 



This training helps to mould newly recruited member into a competent, confident and self-disciplined member of the force who is physically fit to sustain rigorous of the profession. The NPA organizes the following basic training:  
°     Inspector Basic / PGDPS
°     Technical Police Officers Basic

PGDPS (Post Graduate Diploma in Police Science):  

In a bid to bring in change in stereotype training course, PGDPS is introduced in terms of new dimension in training philosophy. It goes on with strong sense of fostering academic capability including application of analytical approaches significantly. PGDPS course launched in 2005 is accredited with the Tribhuvan University (TU), which is the most prestigious and largest university in the country.  

A management committee is formed to run the PGDPS program smoothly, which consists of:

 

1. IGP, Police Headquarters (PHQ) 

2. AIGP Human Resource Department, PHQ

3.  Joint Secretary, designated by MOHA

4.  Joint Secretary, designated by MOF

5.   DIGP, Training Directorate, PHQ, Naxal

6. Representatives, the Faculty of Management, TU. 

7. Ex-Senior Police Officer

8. Representative, Nepal Administrative Staff College

9. Representative, Public Administrative Campus

10. Executive Director, National Police Academy
